MARTIN LUTHER MEETS MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
-a musical dialogue marking the quincentennial of the Reformation and reflections on modern day civil rights and freedom struggles
Celebrating Martin Luther, we will be featuring choruses from Bach Cantata #147 (with the famous Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring), Cantata 201 and the Coffee Cantata with a professional string quartet and two oboes
The second half of the program will be celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. and the vigilance needed to keep hard-fought Freedoms alive. With Gosopel classics including "Keep Your eyes on the Prize, "How Excellent," "Precious Lord" and others with guest piano virtuoso Kent Stevenson.
THIS CONCERT WILL BE PERFORMED TWO NIGHTS AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS:
