Incarcerated 6x9
Alleluia Panis latest work, Incarcerated 6x9, is a 60-minute immersive dance-media workshop performance at Bindlestiff Studio May 19-21, 2017 performed by 6 dancers to original music score by Rachel Lastimosa and video by filmmaker Wilfred Galila. Inc. 6x9 explores the hopes, the delusions and the will to survive the brutal American judicial industry through the lives of Pilipino American inmates Boying, Hes, and Ramon.

*On Sunday, May 21, after the closing weekend performance of 6x9, well be joined by members of our San Francisco, Bay Area community, Filipino and Chinese immigrants who spent decades behind bars and since released have put all their energy and efforts toward the betterment of youth and the community.

PANELISTS:
RICO REMEDIO, formerly incarcerated for 24 years, is now a beloved South of Market advocate, who has dedicated years working with San Francisco youth violence prevention; EDDY ZHENG, became the youngest inmate at San Quentin; while in prison he learned English, earned his college degree and published poetry. Eddys journey is featured in the documentary Breathin: The Eddy Zheng Story, winner of the 2016 CAAMFEST Audience Award; rounding out the panel is award winning multi-media journalist and filmmaker R.J. LOZADA ; the Director of Photography for Breathin. and director of 'Laps,' documentary on the San Quentin 1000 Mile Running Club.

ABOUT PANEL TALK-BACK:
Our panelists will sit down with the audience to offer firsthand insight into the physical and psychological impact of life in the judicial system; unpacking the emotional collateral of incarceration within our families and in our local community.
A time to reflect as a community:
Unearthing beneficial ways to reach out to our children in our home, and support our community youth to avoid influences of the streets
For those currently experiencing the effects of incarceration within our families, how we can ultimately be empowered, and not succumbed to despair
Discover actions we could take with our government policies to advocate for restorative justice system
