NASCENT|NATION

Arte y Pasión in conjunction with Brick at Blue Star presents NASCENT|NATION, a group of installations on the American Minority Experience. The project is comprised of performance and visual art based on the personal experience of four different San Antonio based artists, each facing a different reality based on his or her minority status.

Darian Thomas will present Move On, Get Over It, a repeat performance of his acclaimed installation on the American Black Experience. Fanny Mayahuel-Thomas will present Jornada, an installation on her experience as a Mexican American. Janese Odom will present Transcendence, an installation on being a woman and a mother. Tamara Adira will present Estrellas, an installation on the genetic memory of repeat trauma carried as an American Jew, joined by celebrated flamenco singer Chayito Champion.

Arte y Pasión, under artistic direction of Tamara Adira, is an award-winning San Antonio based interdisciplinary flamenco and artistic company comprised of Independent Artists accomplished in their own right. NASCENT|NATION is our way to work through our convictions on current events.
