ShawnMikael(s) Back at Studio 1469: "All Treats, No Tricks!" with special guest Patrick Ganz
"All Hallows Eve." "Dia de los Muertos." "'Quit-Stealing-My-Fucking-Charleston-Chews' Day." Whatever you call Halloween, it most certainly means one thing: your dad going through all the sweet, sweet loot you brazenly extorted from your neighbors and, under the auspices of "safety," stealing all the good stuff.
Oh, and improv comedy.
On Friday, October 26th, ShawnMikael(s) returns Studio 1469 in Columbia Heights NW DC for a night of improvisational comedy and stand-up, with a frighteningly awesome lineup of some of the best troupes and talent in the DC/MD/VA region.
Opening the show will be the pride of Charm City known as Pop. 6, one of the foundational troupes from Baltimore Improv Group, consisting of Kathy Carson, Josh Frisch, Megan Wills, John Windmueller
Next, the improv juggernaut that is That Was Awkward will take time out from their busy world-improv-comedy-domination schedule to bring their own particular brand of awesomeness to our show: Emily Lamond, Sara Kirwin, Azize Erim, Corey Henry, and Jeff Carpenter perform.
Closing the show will be ShawnMikael(s), Shawn Westfall and Mikael Johnson, who will be joined by special guest, Patrick Ganz, a former Washington Improv Theater mainstay who's become one of the primary creative forces behind the Richmond Comedy Coalition.
Hosting the evening will be a very special gueststay tuned! The Space: Studio 1469 (http://studio1469.com/), located in the rear of 1469 Harvard Street, is not your normal performance space: one part artist's hideaway, one part "white-box" theater, it's a hidden gem in bustling Columbia Heights. Please note that access isn't available on Harvard Street, but by entering via the alley off 15th Street between Harvard Street and Columbia Road. Once in the alley, walk straight to the end, where you'll find the space. More information. Directions, and a map are available here: http://studio1469.com/directions.
BYOB: Keep in mind that space doesn't sell alcohol. However, you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages to the show (provided, of course, you are of legal drinking age).
NOTE: Tickets are limited. Please buy ahead of time, as we will only have 15 (yes, 15) to sell at the door. There will NO standing-room-only space...
