Chris Hayes with Larry Wilmore
"When was the last time you called the cops?" So begins MSNBC's Chris Hayes, whose new book, A Colony in a Nation, draws the reader smack into the national discussion of law and order. And into the heart of the more painful discussion of race and the police in America. Perfect timing for a book on race and law and order, as we plunge into the Trump Era. Chris Hayes, host of the nightly news show, All In on MSNBC, gets to the root of police violence against members of the black community, and he does it with understanding for all concerned. Guns are everywhere, and everyone-- police and civilians alike-- is afraid. White fear and black fear-- a potent cocktail for violence. Between fear of crime and the fear of being shot, American cities are feeling the heat of racial tension and anger. Enforcing the law-- and maintaining or restoring order-- shouldn't be a deadly experience for cops and young black men.
