Mac's works as a tribute artist began with his tribute to Judy Garland ten years ago. Since then he is become critically renowned for his homage to the rainbow girl, garnering special raves for his determination to bring to life the style, wit and musical legacy of an artist rather than caricature her familiar frailties as a human being. In 2005 Mac was interviewed for the United Kingdom television documentary, Hollywood Goddesses. In once in a lifetime opportunity, Mac took the stage as Garland at New York's historic Palace theatre, recreating moments from Garland's concert repertoire and the three famous engagements she played at that venue. In 2007, Mac was cast again as Garland along with several other Garland impersonators to perform in Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall. Mac will be the 2012 recipient of the Southern California Motion Picture Council Golden Halo Lifetime Achievement Award for his loving portrayal of Judy Garland. The award is to be presented in a gala reception hosted by the legendary Margaret O'Brien later this year.
