"L-O-V-E: A Celebration of Nat King Cole"

Alex Leonard, Al Gafa and Jay Leonhart in performance celebrating the legendary Nat King Cole.

Nat King Cole, one of the most identifiable voices in American popular music was also one of jazz's finest pianists. His unique sound and remarkable sense of swing led him to be a major influence and inspiration. Having sold 50 million records in his lifetime the Capitol Records building in Hollywood is still referred to today as, "The House that Nat Built". Despite his stardom in music and television he often encountered a world that was hostile and racist. Despite such personal and professional challenges he projected enormous dignity with the power of his talent, grace and gentle demeanor. This performance, featuring Alex Leonard on piano/vocal, Al Gafa on guitar and Jay Leonhart on bass, celebrates the life and music of this remarkable performer.

All Music Guide calls Alex Leonard, an important mainstay of the Big Apple and Show Business writes, superb piano playing a class act. A two time MAC award nominee, Alex has been featured in venues from Manhattan to Las Vegas, Europe and Japan. He has performed on stages such as Lincoln Centers Rose Hall, The Bruno Walter Auditorium, Joes Pub, Below 54, The Cutting Room. His recordings have received national airplay and reviews from publications such as Jazz Now, Cabaret Scenes, Cadence and All About Jazz. He has been a featured guest on many programs including CUNY-TV and Bloomberg Radios The Business of Show Business.

Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS AT 6:30PM.

Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner.

Late arrivals will be seated at managements discretion.
