Celtic Chaos Traditional Ceilidh @Charslanding

Sat, Jan 7th, 2017, 7-10pm, Traditional Ceilidh - concert and dance with Celtic Chaos

A Ceilidh (Pronounced "kay-lee" ) is a community affair and a night consisting of two halves.

The first part of the evening will be a Celtic Chaos concert. This will be followed by fun and easy "called" dances.

In between there will be a break and opportunity to visit and refresh beverages!

The concert has a seated audience - and will include songs, award-winning spoken word and traditional/contemporary tunes from the Celtic World (which includes Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia, Eastern Canada, Quebec and more!). During intermission, the chairs are pushed to the sides of the room to make way for ceilidh dancing. If youre not familiar with the dances, fear not, as the experienced dance caller will guide you through the steps. No excuses for sitting on the sidelines (although that is an option too).

Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to laugh and have fun with Celtic Chaos.

(Celtic Chaos returns to Char's Landing by popular demand! They are a traditional band from Vancouver Island. The group consists of Dave Barta on accordion and vocals, Joyce Beaton on fiddle, cello and le patter, John Beaton's award winning spoken word, Gordon Lafleur on Irish wooden flute and penny whistle, and Joe Spinelli on double bass and guitar. Their special guest will be June Cannon - a much sought dance caller from Hornby Island. They perform songs, tunes, and stories from all over the Celtic world.
