THE SHOW STOPPING SONGS OF DIONNE McCLAIN-FREENEY AND BIL WRIGHT PERFORMED BY BROADWAY AND OFF BROADWAY SHOW STOPPING VOICES.
Dionne McClain-Freeney, composer extraordinaire and award winning writer Bil Wright partner with Broadway and Off-Broadway pals who will perform songs from "The Movie Star and the Mammy," "The Sugar Hill Sisters," "This One Girl's Story" and the premiere of some slaying tunes from a brand new project.
BIL WRIGHT AND DIONNE McCLAIN-FREENEY created the audience favorite "This One Girls Story" (GLAAD Nomination) which was first produced by Gayfest where it played to sold out houses. TOGS was reprised at the New York Musical Theater Festival winning Best Ensemble. Wright and McClain-Freeney followed up with "The Sugar Hill Sisters" which was introduced at The New York Musical Theater Festival and The Lambs Theater in San Diego. "The Movie Star and the Mammy" had a hugely successful staged reading at Joe's Pub last year. DIONNE McCLAIN FREENEY (Composer) has appeared on numerous national and international stages, and accompanied a variety of artists from Broadway, television, and the recording industry. Her award-winning musical theater compositions and arrangements (New York Musical Theatre Festival; GLAAD Media Award nominee), including the music for The Sugar Hill Sisters (book and lyrics by Bil Wright), and music and lyrics for This One Girl's Story (book by Bil Wright) have been featured on television and radio, and praised in several online and print publications. In 2016, Dionne headlined Joe's Pub, and was one of the keyboardists that set the Guinness World Record for World's Largest Electronic Keyboard Ensemble in 2013. In addition to being a playwright and lyricist, BIL WRIGHT is an award winning YA novelist (ALA Stonewall Award, LAMBDA Literary Award) and has received a La Mama Playwright's Award by La Mama's Ellen Stewart and two Jerome Foundation Fellowships for playwriting. His play, To the Light, about the astounding relationship between James Baldwin and painter Beauford Delaney received a staged reading produced by Harlem Stage. He is at work on his fifth YA novel.

Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner.
