Theres A Million Miles between Slavery and Freedom is an interactive performance piece using the idea of fugitive mentalities in order to survive. What methods do we use in order to escape and free ourselves? Theres A Million Miles between Slavery and Freedom explores the ways black people in America have survived; this piece uses the same tropes that have bound blackness to a position of victim and through a lens of mythology, comedy, and performance delivers a possible way to Freedom that is unusual and unexpected. Not in opposition to Audre Lordes The Masters Tools Will Never Dismantle the Masters House, but this work overlooks the importance of the masters house and directs the focus towards the use of the masters tools in order to escape from the masters house.

PASS is a curated performance series that takes place on the last Saturday of every month at Snug Harbor. The salons focus is on original works in performing arts (music, dance, theater, and multimedia) in different stages of development. When possible, work is developed in residence at Snug Harbor, which serves as an incubation lab. Each PASS has a pre-performance reception and a post-performance artist talk moderated by an expert in the field.
