Dominion Risk Advisors presents Dirty Laundry featuring The Piedmont Queens Thursday, January 5th, 2017!
Dirty Laundry, an 11-piece band with a world-class horn section, is known for being able to support an endless number of styles of music. Always with a groove-first mentality, they seek to bring new music, dancing, and an overwhelmingly good time to the people. Annually, the bands focus is to put the spotlight on new and upcoming artists of our area.
This year, Dirty Laundry will support female songwriters by hosting a night with these "Piedmont Queens":
Claire Hitchins: A Charlottesville singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose homespun musical sensibility was fashioned by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her simple, soulful folk melodies weave a musical fabric that is at once spacious and intimate. (clairehitchins.com)
Libby Rodenbough: Born in Greensboro, NC, a city with some of the worst urban sprawl in the nation, Libby played classical violin and piano for a decade before she realized she was allowed to try other genres. Now, she explores her musicality by touring non-stop with a band called "Mipso". (mipsomusic.com)
Anne-Claire Niver: Hailed as a "big-voiced chanteuse," Anne-Claire is North Carolina born and raised. She assembled The Wild Mystics, a high-energy band with a sound that is dark, full, funky, and grand. (anneclairemusic.com)
Kate Rhudy: Kate has been slinging classic folk tunes since age five and it took her until college to realize music was her calling. Now, Kate has traded in her tuition for a guitar and is recording a new album. (katerhudymusic.com)
