CityDance Audition

Spend six dynamic weeks studying with directors and artists from Dance Theatre of Harlem and Koresh Dance Company, CityDances master Vaganova teachers Stanislav Issaev and Ludmila Morkovina, international guest artists, and award-winning contemporary choreographers such as CityDance's Choreographer-in-Residence Robert J. Priore.

Intensives are ideal for dancers ages 9-19 interested in a challenging exploration of classical and contemporary training with daily classes in ballet, pointe, pas de deux, modern, contemporary, jazz, and African. Other activities may include masterclasses with guest artists, choreography workshops, and participation in culminating performances.

Led by Artistic Director Lorraine Spiegler, CityDance prepares young dancers for 21st century careers with specialized training, rich performance opportunities, and strong connections to the professional dance world.

Those interested in joining CityDance mid-season for the Spring 2017 semester are also invited to audition on January 21 (postponed from January 14).

We do allow for walkups, but online registration is encouraged and will make the audition process more seamless.

Ages 12-14:
Check-in 10:00-10:30am

Ages 15+
Check-in 12:30-1:00pm
Ballet 1:00-2:30pm
Pointe 2:30-3:30pm

Conservatory Audition (by invitation only):
Check-in 11:30am-12:00pm
Ballet 12:00-1:30pm

DRESS CODE

Please bring a headshot and a full-body shot. These do not need to be professionally-done photos. Photos taken on phones are more than welcome!

Female: leotard, pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes with elastic straps
Male: fitted black or white t-shirt or tank, men's tights, black or white ballet shoes

PARKING

At our Strathmore location, there is free parking in the Grosvenor/Strathmore Metro parking garage and at the meters along Tuckerman Ln on weekends.
