How to Henna Create & Make Workshop

Henna is an ancient art form, used for millennia to beautify the skin and connect individuals and families through body adornment. Wherever the henna plant grows, there is evidence of its use going back before the written word.

In this workshop, henna artist Antoinette Hippe will help you gain an understanding of the history of henna, from its roots to modern applications as well as a brief overview of different temporary body art products in use today, the benefits and risks of common dyes, and the questions to ask artists before they get body art for themselves. And then... we play!

Each student will be provided with a cone of fresh, natural, handmade henna and paper to practice on as the instructor goes over a few design ideas to practice copying and demonstrates good posture and technique. From that point, you can play on paper and--if daring enough--draw on yourself or you friends.

No previous experience necessary. You supply the imaginative spirit, we supply the materials.
