Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem bring fiddle, guitar, bass and junk percussion to bear on 100 years of American music, from Appalachian ballads to Brue Springsteen covers, songs by contemporary writers, and their own incisive originals. Their sound is tight, with stylish, unexpected choices (Acoustic Guitar), a mix of New Orleans grooves, old-time gospel harmonies, bluesy swing fiddle, and fiery electric and acoustic guitars. Rani Arbo, Andrew Kinsey, Scott Kessel and Anand Nayak take turns singing lead, with Arbos incandescent alto at the helm. Together, they plumb the human condition with an infectious joie de vivre. Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem have five albums on Signature Sounds; their latest, Violets Are Blue (2015), is an eclectic bouquet of love songs infused with poetry and groove. Some Bright Morning (2012) and Big Old Life (2007) are the foundation for the band's American Spiritual program, full of songs that uplift, connect, and carry the human spirit.
