Arsenic and Old Lace
Red Curtain's first play of the 2016-2017 season is Joseph Kesserling's dark comedy, "Arsenic and Old Lace." The play runs October 21-November 6, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
Leading man Mortimer Brewster is a New York drama critic who is bringing his fiancée to meet his familytwo spinster aunts who have taken to murdering lonely old men by poisoning them with a glass of homemade elderberry wine laced with arsenic, strychnine, and "just a pinch" of cyanide; a brother who believes he is Theodore Roosevelt and digs locks for the Panama Canal in the cellar of the Brewster home; and a murderous brother who has undergone plastic surgery by an alcoholic accomplice, Dr. Einstein, to conceal his identity, and now looks like horror-film actor Boris Karloff.
The show is directed by David Bailey.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
Tickets $17 for adults; $14 for seniors/students/military personnel; $5 for kids 12 and under.
