Clemens Ilgner is an award-winning magician from Germany. An accomplished musician, Ilgner began his professional career in magic performing close-up magic at La vie en rose in Berlin while studying classical music. Since then he has performed at the Berlin Wintergarten Varieté and the Berlin Close-up Club. Ilgners close-up act won awards at several national and international competitions, including the German championship in 2011. In 2015 Ilgner won top prize at Auke van Dokkums Close Up Day in the Netherlands and in 2016 he won the German Championship of Magic. Clemens Ilgner is a Member of the Magische Zirkel von Deutschland, the International Brotherhood of Magicians and Obie OBriens F.F.F.F. In 2017, Ilger will represent Germany at the FISM European Championship.
Joining Ilgner and returning to the Parlor of Mystery is mind reader Andrew Mesmer. Mesmer blends magic, mentalism, and live theatre into his performances with routines that are unusual and feature extreme mental feats. Although Mesmer is not psychic, he uses minute facial expressions, body language, psychological manipulation, deception, theatrics and the power of suggestion to read minds.
Warren Bausert also returns to the Parlor to perform close-up magic during intermission. Bausert claims he likes performing where the wine is served. He says, "The more wine the audience consumes the better my magic is."
The show will be hosted by guest emcee and funny man, Pat Darienzo who appears regularly at the Parlor and comedy clubs all over Long Island and NYC. Pat also portrays John Henry Anderson, "The Great Wizard of the North" at the Long Island Fair in Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Deepwells Mansion's Fall Festival in St James, KidsFest in Merrick, the East Hampton Historical Society's Family Day Fair, and the Port Jefferson Village Charles Dickens Festival. Pat brings the funny wherever and whenever he performs.
The Parlor of Mystery is a monthly parlor magic show where magic is performed that does not require expensive, large-scale stage equipment. It is magic performed close to the audience and without a stage. The setting and the magic are intimate. And all shows are modern, funny, grown-up and for grown-up audiences.
The Parlor of Mysterys home is the South Shore Theatre Experience in Lindenhurst. Its the perfect place to experience parlor and close-up magic. It is small black box theatre with comfortable tiered seating for 45. The Parlor of Mystery is one of many productions that take place at the South Shore Theatre Experience, which is located at 315 West Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst. The South Shore Theatre Experience is a non- profit organization that produces original works and theatre classics as well as conducting acting classes & workshops.
Parlor of Mystery shows take place on the fourth Sunday of every month with different magicians performing different effects.
