"Gems in a Crystal Bowl"
With "Gems In A Crystal Bowl", veteran of stage and screen Marti Stevens brings her new show to Pangea which celebrates her storied career as both an actress on stage and screen as well as a cabaret chanteuse on nightclub stages around the world. Featured in the show will be songs by composers such as Cole Porter, Noel Coward and Cy Coleman along with stories of Marti's friendships with these legendary songwriters.  Musical arrangements are by Marti's long time collaborators Buddy Barnes and William Roy, as well her current musical director, Tedd Firth.

Marti Stevens is internationally known for her appearances in Theatre, Concerts, Supper Clubs, Television and on Film.
On Broadway, she was directed by Sir John Gielgud in his production of "The Constant Wife", starring Ingrid Bergman.
She played in the musical "First Impressions" on Broadway. She co-starred, on the National tour and in the London production of "Company", directed by Harold Prince.

In London, Ms.Stevens  also starred in Richard Rodger's "No Strings" at her Majesty's Theatre. She was Elvira in Sir Noel Coward's "High Spirits", directed by the author, at the Savoy Theatre.

She joined Jean Simmons and Herminone Gingold, taking the part of the Countess, in Stephen Sondheim's "A Little Night Music".

Ms.Stevens current projects include recording the cast album of "42nd Street" at Abbey Studios in London and a solo CD, soon to be released.

"This handsome , dynamic artist reminds us somewhat of Judy Garland, Elaine Stritch and Marlene Dietrich all rolled into one."   Liz Smith

"..Stevens greatest attribute is her ability to turn a song into a profoundly moving story."   Bob Harrington, New York Post

"A singer of impeccable diction, Ms. Stevens deftly switches to Brooklynese to Cockney to upper class English accents to add a witty sociological dimension to her material. She has a special affinity for the lyrics of Cole Porter, exquisitely underscoring the brilliant rhymes, naughty sexual innuendo and snobbish wit.."   Stephen Holden, New York Times
