Fauxnique: The F Word
The F Word is FEMINISM! Lets hear it from the painted mouth of Fauxnique, the lady drag queen and dancing, singing raconteuse. A frank fabulist whose Fosse-lized focus and forceful frame forge fanciful factual fictions. Fauxniques fashionably fierce form of feminism is filled with f***ing fantastic feats of hi-femme frippery. Fauxnique is the drag queen alter-ego of artist/choreographer/dancer Monique Jenkinson. Lauded for her campy, intellectual juxtaposition of pop culture and high art Fauxnique plays with artifice and authenticity and lives to question essentialist assumptions about gender, art and culture. Informed both by Jenkinsons classical ballet training and a tradition of radical queer performance and theory, Fauxnique sees the performance of femininity as a forceful, vulnerable and subversive act.
Fauxnique made herstory as the first cis-woman to win a major drag pageant and has performed in an amazing variety of venues and contexts nationally and internationally, including New Museum, Judson Church, Sid Golds and the Stonewall in New York; Afterglow Festival in Provincetown; Stud Bar, City Hall, and de Young Museum in San Francisco; and in New Orleans, Seattle, London, Reykjavik, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Rome, Catania and Zürich. She created space for kids to dress drag queens at a major museum, performed vocals and starred in the beloved video for the dance track Lipstique by Silencefiction, played the DIRT (originated by Justin Bond) in Taylor Macs Lilys Revenge at Magic Theater and recently Eurydike/Ismene in Anne Carsons ANTIGONICK at Ashby Stage.

Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 6:00PM.
Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner.
Late arrivals will be seated at managements discretion.
