SPF5 Woodwind Quintet

SPF5 is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's finest chamber ensembles. These accomplished Bay Area-based musicians have performed individually throughout California, the United States and abroad, playing professionally with such distinguished orchestras as: the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Tulsa Opera, New Century Chamber Orchestra, and the Albany, San Diego, Baltimore, Columbia and Honolulu Symphonies (among others). Locally, members of SPF5 perform with Bay Area ensembles including West Bay Opera, Symphony Parnassus, Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra, Schola Cantorum, TheatreWorks, Palo Alto Philharmonic, Santa Cruz and Peninsula Symphonies. The group has appeared at numerous local venues including Stanford University, the annual Palo Alto Arts and Wine Festival and the Palo Alto Cultural Center Recital Series. They were featured on the cable TV program "Arts and Minds". This summer they are performing recitals under the name "SPF5". Known for their eclectic choice of music, the group explores new and lesser-known works as well as the standard quintet repertoire.
