Illumination Dance and Laterna presents: Oceanic

Join us for a dance adventure on the high seas! The year is 1931, and there is change in the air for the people aboard one wayward ship. Featuring Laterna Dance Company, resident Dogtown Dance Theater artists RVA Dance Collective, Claves Unidas, Host of Sparrows, and guest artists, this work is about revolution among women, looking to nature for answers to issues created by humanity, and togetherness among all people. The stage will hold a kaleidoscope of dance forms; theatrical bellydance in several incarnations, group improvisation, modern dance, Afro-Cuban dance, and the aerial arts will all be represented, against a backdrop of live music by the Happy Lucky Combo, a worldwide musical experience unto themselves.

In the spirit of flexibility and the feminine elements of inclusion, all tickets to this production are sold on a sliding scale basis. Please choose the ticket price that you can afford.
