Let's Get Summer Started with Emma Straub, Kemper Donovan, and Michelle Latiolais
Ladies, Lunch, and Literacy is having a party! You will meet New York Times Best Selling author Emma Straub, Kemper Donovan, and Michelle Latiolais. You will also enjoy a drink and some delicious food at the fabulous Sausal Restaurant in El Segundo.
Emma Straub made her mark a few years ago with one my favorite books of 2014, The Vacationers. With Modern Lovers, she has done it again ... and I may even love this book more! Once again Straub explores family relationships and the different ways that love manifests in our lives. Modern Lovers is sure to hit all of the best seller lists as soon as it hits the shelves on May 31.
Joining Emma are two local authors who's books I fell in love with earlier this year. Kemper Donovan has written a love story for our time set in locales and venues you are familiar with. The Decent Proposal had me turning the pages as fast as I could to discover all of the hidden secrets of this gem of a debut. Michelle Latiolais has written an unique and fascinating look at Los Angeles through the eyes of a 15-year-old runaway who has escaped her abusive family. Her journey is interspersed with a set of short stories that will take your breath away. This is a writer to watch.
We invite all genders of book lovers to join us. Registration and informal discussions with our authors begins at 5:00pm. Food and drinks will be provided before our formal program begins promptly at 5:45pm. Reservations are required and limited.
