Bars And Measures
As part of a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere, Charter Core Member Prop Thtr will present Idris Goodwins newest drama; Bars and Measures. Opening June 10th, Tara Branham will direct Anthony Conway, Osiris Khepara, Vahishta Vafadari & Abbas Salem in this tale, based on a true story. We meet two brothers. One a classical pianist. The other a jazz bass player. One a Christian. The other a Muslim. One living in freedom. The other in jail. Separated by bars, the brothers try to reconcile their differences through the language they know best. Music. A beautiful journey through faith, family, melody and time.

Anthony Conway (Eric)
Is excited to work at Prop Thtr on another piece by Idris Goodwin. Previous theatre credits include The Last Hand with Inglis Hall Productions/Bread & Roses, The Raid with Jackalope Theatre Company, and both Ruined and Mud, River, Stone with Eclipse Theatre Company where he is a company member. Anthony has also been featured on NBC's Chicago PD, as well as commercials for Cars.com and KFC. Anthony is represented by Paonessa Talent Agency.
Osiris Khepera (Bilal)
Renaissance Artist. Actor. Poet. Playwright. Singer. SGI Buddhist: Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. Cooker of Things. Abstract Painter with no Canvas. Creator of Hullabaloo. Hater of Sycophants. Vahishta Vafadari (Sylvia)
Is so happy to be a part of this production of Bars and Measures! Chicago Credits include Julius Caesar(in the role of Marc Antony) with Brown Paper Box Co, A Widow of No Importance with Rasaka Theatre Company, Two Gentlemen of Verona at Oak Park Theatre Festival, Holidaze with Step Up Productions and understudying (performed) for Remy Bumppo's Love and Information. Previously she worked in the SF Bay Area as an actor with many companies including, Bay Area Children's Theatre, Custom Made Theatre Co., and Woman's Will. Vahishta is represented by Gray Talent and is a graduate of the Theatre School at DePaul University with an MFA in Acting.
Abbas Salem (Wes)
Is a Chicago actor and is beyond pleased to be a part of this production. He was last seen in Even Longer and Further Away (The New Colony), Princess Mary Demands Your Attention (Bailiwick Chicago), Washer/Dryer (Rasaka Theatre),INVASION! (Silk Road Rising), and Trafford Tanzi (Prologue Theatre). He will be Assistant Directing the next cycle of The Hamlet Project with his new theater company, The Collective Chicago.
