STEPHANIE BRIGGS in concert

Celebrate Leap Year Day at the Plaza with Stephanie, originally from our sister city of El Campo but now based in New Braunfels, and her drummer/guitarist husband Matthew, who is originally from Boling.

Stephanie began her career with a small cover band out of West Columbia that eventually turned into an original band calling itself Rodger Wilko, with Stephanie playing the bass guitar. Rodger Wilko traveled, wrote music, recorded three albums, and played live for four years (including a gig at the Wharton County Freedom Fest). In December 2005, the group decided to disband, and Stephanie and Matthew struck out on their own. She says that after years on bass, people are surprised at her skill with the acoustic guitar.

Stephanie has graced such venues as the Executive Surf Club in Corpus Christi, Momo's in Austin, John T. Floore County Store in Helotes, and also travels up into Oklahoma. She has shared the bill with the likes of Bob Schneider, Tyrone Vaughn, Guy Forsyth, Wade Bowen, Odis, the McKay Brothers and others.
