Coaching to Improve Your Writing

Four online group sessions Thursdays in June (June 2, 9, 16, 23rd) from 9 10 am; four weekly half-hour one-on-one coaching sessions by phone.

Good writing is still one of the pillars of good journalism. No matter what platform you're using, you want your work to be read, and the best way to achieve that is with good writing. But who has time to worry about writing in this era of shrinking staffs and never-ending deadlines?

Here's a unique opportunity for reporters and editors to focus on what makes good writing and how they can get more of it. Led by Tom Linthicum, who has conducted workshops for the American Press Institute, these four online group sessions will offer tools, tips and techniques to make your writing as sharp as possible.

There will be one hour-long session per week in June along with weekly half-hour coaching sessions for participants. Three months later, there will be a follow-up session with each participant. The weekly group sessions are tentatively scheduled for 9-10 a.m. on Thursdays, but the day and time will be reviewed with those taking the course.
