Monsters' Playground, Empty Hats, and News From Nowhere Release Party
We're dropping three bottles of unadulterated liquid enchantment, featuring two outrageously tasty red wine barrel-aged sours and a sour stout that's as delicious as it is fearlessly weird.
We'll begin the pickup window with our traditional release party on April 21st at the Lomaland Fementorium, with special beers on tap to celebrate your delicious new liquid assets. The beers:
EMPTY HATS
We aged this Oud Bruin-style ale for over a year in red wine barrels with an array of cultures that added loads of sour, funky character. The result is a beer bursting with dark fruit and sporting a beautiful malt complexity, with a noticeable oak presence and an exceptionally long, lingering finish. Fermented with our house Lomaland yeast strain before a secondary mixed fermentation with Lactobacillus and Pediococcus, this dark brown sour draws additional funky complexity from several different strains of Brettanomyces.

NEWS FROM NOWHERE
This tart, complex Flanders Red-style ale spent over a year aging in red wine barrels while mingling with an exceptionally diverse mix of sour/funky cultures. The resulting beer is bursting with bright, acidic red fruit flavor & aroma, with a noticeable oak presence and an exceptionally long, lingering finish. Fermentation began with our house Lomaland yeast strain, but its robust sourness is the result of a secondary mixed fermentation of Lactobacillus and Pediococcus. Several different strains of Brettanomyces add a funky, earthy wildness to this exceptional sour.

MONSTERS' PLAYGROUND
This beer is a knee-buckling curveball of tastiness. Made from the second runnings of our hulking, cantankerous imperial stout, Monsters' Playground is a sour stout topped off with citrus zest. Fermented with Saccharomyces, Lactobacillus, and Brettanomyces, it got good and funky during a lengthy aging on oak. While it's not your typical combination of flavors, the result is roasty, tart, and flagrantly complex. It tastes alarmingly good in your mouth.

BOTTLE PURCHASE DETAILS:
Starting Thursday, 4/14/2016 at 10am for League members and Monday, 4/18/2016 at 8pm for the general public, you will be able to purchase tickets good for up to 3 bottles of Empty Hats, 3 bottles of Symmetric Orchestra, and 6 bottles of Monsters' Playground. The general public will be able to pick-up bottles at the Lomaland Fermentorium tasting room during the period from 12pm on Thursday, 4/21/2016, until 10pm on Thursday, 6/16/2016. League members will have until Thursday, 7/14/2016 to pick up their bottles. Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made to either the bottle limit, nor the pick-up window and PROXIES ARE NOT ALLOWED. You cannot pick-up your bottles at the North Park Flavordome. **Any bottles not retrieved by Thursday, 6/16/2016 (Thursday, 7/14/2016 for League members) will be surrendered back to the brewery (NO exceptions).** Please read the additional details below for further information on proxies and bottle pickup names.
RELEASE PARTY:
Your tickets admit you to a release party on 4/21/2016 at the Lomaland Fermentorium tasting room starting at 12pm. This will be the easiest and most fun day to pick-up your bottles. We will have some cool stuff on-tap, and it'll be a damn good time. If you've been meaning to visit us to buy some of our super rad glassware, a couple bags of our awesome house roasted coffee, and a shirt or two, this is the time to do it.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
In order to pick-up your bottles, you will need to show your valid photo ID; it must be your ID and the name MUST match the name on the credit card of the ticket buyer (i.e. only you can pick up your bottles; no proxies). Any sales that attempt to work around the bottle limit will be voided. Only purchase bottles if you are 100% positive you can personally pick-up your bottles within the pick-up window; any bottles not picked up before Thursday, 6/16/2016 (Thursday, 7/14/2016 for League members) will be surrendered back to Modern Times Beer.
REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES:
Please note that we will not issue refunds, exchanges, or returns. All sales are final.
SHIPPING:
We will not ship the bottles. Bottles must be retrieved at the Lomaland Fermentorium tasting room during regular tasting room hours between 12pm on 2/25/2016 and 10pm on Thursday, 6/16/2016 (Thursday, 7/14/2016 for League members).
