Ripchain

Born from the ashes of several local bands, RIPCHAIN was formed in 2004. The idea was to bring to the table old school thrash and blend it with current metal styles to create something familiar, yet uniquea brand of metal the band referred to then, and now as 'Post-Modern Thrash'.

Throughout the years, as the band has gone through many line-up changes, management disputes, etc., one thing has always remainedThe love for the metal. It's the passion, the desire, the dedication that pushes the band to excel at their craft.

Today, RIPCHAIN find themselves blending multiple stylesincluding classic Bay-area & SoCal thrash metal (Metallica, Slayer) and NWOBHM (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest) of the 80's with the current 'East coast/West coast metal' sound (Lamb of God, God Forbid, Prong), to the classic masters of metal, Black Sabbath, resulting in a sound that is distinctly their own

Fall of Humanity

When you look at the word humanity, it's easy to quickly associate it with the entirety of the human race. We often forget though that it also relates to what it means to be human. Characteristics that set us apart from animals. More specifically, the qualities and the conditions that are best in mankind. For years, science fiction has thrived on the idea of lost humanity. Maybe an alien race that invades our world from the cosmos or another dimension. Perhaps sentient beings born of our own hands through technological discovery. Or possibly a natural or even a man-made disaster that threatens our outright existence. But what if were none of these things? What if it didn't even require something as fatal or calamitous?

The world we live in today is vastly different than the one our parents grew up in. Despite the fact that technology has enabled us to connect and communicate to the world as a whole, we have somehow grown more distant and more cold. We prefer the company of our computers and phones to those of our friends and neighbors. More than ever, we point out our differences and put up barriers. Voice our opinions on a pedestal with unwavering narrow-mindedness and scorn others for their beliefs. Egotism and entitlement are replacing community and achievement. Suspicious glances have replaced everyday kindnesses. Money and status are worshiped more than any divinity. The media and our own governments push complacency and conformity while reflecting duplicity. All this while the gap grows daily between our societies common values. Isn't it possible that we're already witnessing the fall of humanity?

Mercy Brown
https://www.facebook.com/mercybrownofficial/
Mercy Brown is an American metal band from Spokane, Washington. Formed in 2010, the current lineup includes Sera Hatchett (vocals), Chris Tanaka Canwell (guitar), Josh Schultz (bass), and Lunden Herndon (drums). Complimented by a vast array of influences, Mercy Brown is known for their dynamic musical presence, ranging from blackened death metal, to punk rock, to dark ambience. The diverse nature of their music has allowed them to play shows with Machine Head, Mushroomhead, 3 Inches of Blood, Castle, Hanzel und Gretyl, Lord Dying, Witch Mountain, and The Atlas Moth, to name a few. They are currently playing shows throughout the Pacific Northwest in support of their self-titled debut album.

Mercy Brown first garnered attention outside of Spokane with the release of their self-titled, three track EP in 2012. The EP eventually reached #1 on progressive rock and metal college radio stations throughout the Inland Northwest, prompting the band to begin focusing on recording and producing new material. Between 2013 and the beginning of 2015, the band focused on writing and recording new songs, while also welcoming new member Lunden Herndon, who replaced former drummer Devin Beedle in June of 2014.

On March 17th, 2015, Mercy Brown released their highly anticipated, self-titled debut album. The album was recorded and mixed at guitarist Chris Tanaka Canwells studio Birdhouse Squirrel in Spokane, Washington. Highlighted by the singles, Red and Yellow, In the Dark, One (The Edge of), and News Complaint, the album has seen positive reviews and was quickly put into radio rotations across North America and Europe.
