Zoetic Dance will screen NY filmmaker Lily Baldwin's acclaimed film, Sleepover L.A. in two evening length concerts on March 25 & 26, at 8 PM at the West End Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature new work by Zoetic Dance in response to Baldwin's film, and a guest performance by the Susan Chambers Dance Company. Stay after the show on March 26th for an artist talk featuring Lily Baldwin, Zoetic Dance and the MIXTAPE featured master class teachers, Sakinah LeStage & Cherrise Wakeham.

ZOETIC DANCE ENSEMBLE
Zoetic Dance Ensemble is a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting the athleticism and artistry of dance to audiences nationwide through innovative, dynamic and accessible choreographic works and ideas.  

We believe dance is essential to the human experience. Our work focuses on the personal, incorporating the ideas, stories and experiences of the people present in the space during the creative process and the performance. The work engages artists and audiences in a collaborative relationship for a moment in time with a lasting impact.

Under the direction of Artistic Director, Mallory Lyles Baxley, Zoetic has presented dance and film works in Georgia including the Atlanta Beltline, Terminal West, the Music Room, The Mammal Gallery, Agnes Scott, The University of Georgia, Armstrong Atlantic State University, 7 Stages, the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education, Victory Sandwich Bar and more, as well as The Flat Iron Performing Arts Building in Chicago, IL.

LILY BALDWIN
Lily Baldwin is a filmmaker and dancer working in NYC and LA.Recent film work includes Sleepover LA (SXSW premiere, Berlinale EFM, Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week), A Juice Box Afternoon (Lincoln Center premiere, Dance on Camera tour), Sea Meadow (SXSW premiere, V&A Museum London, Art Basel Miami, Academy-Qualifying theatrical run). Her films are featured on ShortsHD, Filmmaker Magazine, NOWNESS, and Fandor, and have screened internationally at festivals, art fairs, galleries and museums. Music videos include Blood Orange: Sutphin Boulevard, The Forms: Fire To The Ground, Joan Osborne.

Prior to filmmaking, she worked as a professional dancer with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, The Trisha Brown Dance Company, and other NYC companies. She performed with David Byrne on his Everything That Happens Will Happen Today World Tour, and in its documentary Ride Rise Roar (SXSW premiere).

SAKINAH LESTAGE:
Sakinah Lestage is setting the new industry standard for artist development, live performances and cutting edge visuals. An Atlanta native of Cuban and Trinidadian descent, Sakinah studied musical theatre, singing and drama at DeKalb School of the Arts and trained in all styles of dance, majoring in dance from University of South Florida. Sakinah found her passion for choreography and visual movement early on and launched a successful career as a professional dancer and choreographer. She toured for several years with Grammy Award winning R&B star Ne-Yo and performed on major award shows and music videos with Fergie, Diddy, Red Hot Chili Peppers and choreographed for many of the successful artists from Atlanta's vibrant music scene like T-Pain, Keri Hilson, and Jacob Lattimore. Sakinah moved into creative direction and was instrumental in the new imaging of R&B star Mario with his hit song "Break Up". She is requested for artist development and choreography by many major labels including JIVE, Atlantic, Universal, J Records, Def Jam, Chris Brown Entertainment, Zone 4, Nappy Boy and many more.

CHERRISE WAKEHAM:
Founder, director and choreographer of Project 7 Contemporary Dance Company, Cherrise Wakeham has been dedicated to the art of movement since the age of seven and is now recognized nationally for her choreography as well as her success as an influential instructor.
With a relentless vision for style and innovation, she has shared her passion for dance with hundreds of students and several companies, studios, and intensives in the southeastern U.S., including The Project, Circuit on Tour, Breathe the Intensive, Gotta Dance Atlanta, Dance 101, Roswell City Dance and others. Recently, Cherrise was interviewed by and featured in the October issue of Dance Informa Magazine, chosen as a finalist for the 2010 Capezio ACE Awards in New York City this past summer for her work, Be Your Love, and in 2009, recognized in Dance Spirit Magazine for her piece,Vogue, named the 2009 Editors Choice, Video of the Year.

THE SUSAN CHAMBERS DANCE COMPANY
A 501 © (3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1988, The Susan Chambers Dance Company exists as a theatrical dance outlet for pre-professional dancers ages 6-18 to increase artistic opportunities in the field of classical ballet, tap, jazz ,musical theater, and hip hop. The Company, under the direction of Susan Chambers, presents the universal language of dance through concerts, lectures and demonstrations. These performances are presented in theaters, senior citizens homes, and at various community venues.

The Company is unique in its commitment to performing all forms of theater dance, in addition to classical ballet. Among the many benefits provided by the Company are opportunities for the community to become interested in dance as a profession, as well as the opportunity to become an informed and appreciative audience. In turn, the Company is benefited through dance performances that are made available to the entire community, including those that would normally not be able to participate and enjoy this dance venue such as assisted living and senior citizen homes, underprivileged children and inner-city audiences.
