Bulgarian Liberation Day Celebration
The historic movie Levski, directed by Maxim Genchev, is now on the stage of Botev Academy Theater on February 28, 2.30 p.m. The Apostle of Freedom is played by the actor Vaselin Plachkov. The image of Vasil Levski comes to life in a new interpretation, different from the well-known static image-alive, emotional, both a man and a saint. The movie leads the spectators through the life of the Apostle from his childhood to his elevation to the gibbet - the Bulgarian Golgotha. The directors vision may be contemporary, but the means of expression are both magical historicism and almost documentary style. The movie has English subtitles.
Ivaylo Gurov is one of the few Bulgarian singers with over 1300 pieces for tenor in his repertoire. His style varies with the audience - from Italian and Bulgarian pop to folklore and opera. There is almost no musical wish that he could not perform live - a cappella and crystal clear. His career begins with the turbulent years of political transition in Bulgaria winning a prize in Golden Orpheus 1996, second place in Sing with me 2008 etc. In 2010 he settles in the U.S.A. following his sons dream who already studies medicine. He has more than 60 concerts since 2011. He was Pavarottis student and has 8+ albums. Ivaylo Gurov has exceptionally clean voice, that caress even the most fastidious listener. During the break you can buy hand made martenitza. Also debut of the young Belorussian singer Julia Reznikov. At the grand piano Alina Antonenko.
