Join us for a two-day intensive with 2009 Telluride Troubadour and Kentucky singer/songwriter/storyteller Mitch Barrett!

In this "workshare" led by acclaimed Kentucky musician Mitch Barrett, we will explore the complementary arts of storytelling and songwriting. Through sharing traditional and personal stories, we will discover our uniqueness as well as our common ground. We will then utilize the ideas and themes from our personal stories to explore songwriting as a medium. We will uncover how to use structure, rhyme scheme, tempo, and rhythm in a variety of individual and group songwriting exercises. Rather than being driven by goals, we'll open ourselves to the experience of sharing and writing together. Mitch is "not the kind of songwriter who hunts the muse", instead creating the space for the muse to feel comfortable showing up for all of us!

You do not need to play an instrument to participate.
