Formerly known as Dolmen, which evolved via Azathoth, Eternus and Necrotic into Absu in 1991. Calling themselves "Mythological Occult Metal, "Absu" in Sumerian mythology refers to a subterranean ocean. The band draws on Sumerian, Celtic and other ancient mythologies, supervised by Proscriptor.
