"Working" the musical
From Stephen Schwartz, the creator of the megahits "Wicked" and "Godspell," Shoreline Community College presents "Working," the American musical based on the book by Pulitzer Prize winning author Studs Terkel. "Working" tells the true stories of daily life for working men and women, echoing Walt Whitman's ode to the American worker: "I Hear America Singing." Their struggles, dreams, failures and triumphs are captured in a diverse, contemporary musical score that includes music from James Taylor, Micki Grant, Mary Rodgers and Craig Carnelia. Nominated for six Tony awards, this show contains mature language and situations and is recommended for audiences age 14 and up
