LACMA FEAST - just for kids!
Explore 17th-century European gold and porcelain dinnerware, wonder who would have used these objects, and engage in scenes featuring these characters. Imagine eating a sumptuous feast filled with exotic foods from a Dutch oil painting. Who would be at the table? What would they say to each other? Act out these imaginary scenes with Chelsea Hogan, museum educator and founder of MuseumProv, and Maite before heading to the ArtBites Pop-up Kitchen (a 3-minute drive from the museum) to prepare and eat a real feast!

Ages 7 to 12. Class is limited to 6 children and one accompanying adult per child. No drop off.
ABOUT ARTBITES:
Maite Gomez-Rejon has a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Grande Diplome from the French Culinary Institute in New York City. Since 1995 Maite has worked in the education departments of such renowned museums as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art and the Getty Villa and has worked as a private chef and caterer. In 2007, Maite founded ArtBites, art and culinary history combined with hands-on cooking instruction, which she teaches at museums across the country. Maite has been a guest on the Today Show, featured in Food & Wine magazine and interviewed on NPR's Splendid Table. Her blog, Cooking Art History, appears in The Huffington Post.
ABOUT MUSEUMPROV:
Chelsea Hogan has been a Museum Educator for ten years, and an improviser for four. She is delighted and invigorated by the opportunity to combine her passions for teaching, performance, and connecting people of all ages to their unique selves through art as the founder of MuseumProv. Chelsea has worked in the field of Museum Education for ten years and is currently an Education Specialist at ESMoA. She is also a Gallery Teacher at The LA County Museum of Art and previously The Getty Villa, where she taught programs based on the antiquities collection for K-12 schools, families, and the general public. Chelsea earned her MAT in Museum Education in 2009 from the George Washington University while also working as an educator in a variety of Washington D.C. museums, from The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, The National Children's Museum, and the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site. She completed her Bachelors degree in Art History from Ithaca College in 2005. Chelsea teaches Improv FUNdamentals for middleschoolers while performing regularly in a variety of capacities, from Lip Sync Competitions to Short-form Improv with puppets. She can be seen performing bi-monthly in the House Team The Audience at MI's Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica, as well as other reputable theaters throughout the LA area.
