The People's Harvest Forum is a weekend forum about achieving food justice and food sovereignty. Distinguished guests will speak about the impacts of agribusiness and flawed policies on the environment, animals and people and discuss ways to build alternatives and reclaim our food systems. This forum is unique in that we will integrate an animal liberation perspective in working towards food sovereignty.
At this year's event we will emphasize food struggles in the Bay Area and urban spaces. We aim to answer the questions of how can we create and gain ownership of healthy food systems in cities. We will bring the concept of reclaiming the fields to urban spaces and the right of the people to the city, central to building healthy, resilient and autonomous communities.
The People's Harvest Forum is hosted by Millahcayotl at the Centro del Pueblo, 474 Valencia Street, one block from the 16th Mission BART station.
