Kinbaku Basics: Rope Bondage for Everyone
Japanese-style rope bondage is hot, beautiful, and wonderfully connective. Come learn the basics with Seattle Shibari!
In this three hour workshop, we'll explore several different foundational techniques and ties used in rope bondage, including limb ties, body harnesses, and different ways to incorporate rope into your own play. We'll examine anatomy & safety issues associated with this rope, and learn tips & tricks for tying your partner fluidly & with connection.
Prerequisite: None. This workshop is appropriate for all genders, sexual orientations, and body types.
To ensure personal attention to each participant, class size will be limited to 10 couples.
Please bring: (3-4) 25'-30' lengths of suitable rope (2) 10' lengths of suitable rope **Bondage rope is preferably 6mm in diameter** -a blanket or yoga mat to sit & tie on -clothing comfortable to tie in.
Don't have enough rope? Don't worry, we'll have a bit of extra available for use.
About the Instructor: Jonathan, aka Seattle Shibari, is a Seattle-based rope artist who performs on-stage theatrical bondage acts, ties for photo shoots, and teaches rope with his partner O. They train regularly with the best teachers in Japan, Europe, and the USA, and are committed to bringing the joy, art, and intimacy of Japanese-style rope bondage to the community.
