Making hope visual: Global visual communication as a universal language for social change.
Design has the power to bring a message to life, engaging diverse audiences in all corners of the world and making a positive impact on their lives. While communicating across borders using universal terms, these images all address the same challenge: being equally understood by people of different cultures who speak different languages. Major geopolitical milestones in human rights, development , justice and environment are distilled into eye-catching visuals, from posters and logos to book covers and social media visuals, depicting ideas and values that are time-less. Through them, we gain a fresh perspective on the human condition.
Matías Delfino is an international civil servant working at the United Nations in-house Graphic Design Unit in New York since 2000. Born and raised in Argentina (1974), Delfino graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires with a degree in Graphic Design. He found his calling to design for social change while working on a project on child abandonment in college. During these last 15 years, his creations reach the United Nations' 193 member states.
The presentation will be delivered in Spanish. There will be simultaneous translations to English available.
