A Musical Improv Workshop for Intermediate/Advanced Improvisers
with Mac Gostow and Nate Shaffer

Pre-requisite: For those with at least one year of performance experience, either musical improv or longform improv.

Body language is everything. In this workshop, you'll discover the power of physicality to inform your musical improvisation. Rely less on spoken word, and let your body do the singing.

Millions of emotions, wants, desires, needs and intentions are right there in the movement of one's body. Everything you need to start, continue and finish a scene are right there in the subtle gestures. Find out how to take that expression of physicality and match it in perfect harmony with your voice.

Take your improvisation to the fullest potential in this workshop where we take you out of your head and into your body and voice.

This class is limited to ten participants.

About Your Teachers:
Mac Gostow has performed his musical improvisation in cities across the country including Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Nashville, Philadelphia and Chicago. Mac was a veteran member of the Sweaty Toothed Madmen (Gordon College) when they won the College Comedy Festival at ImprovBoston with in 2013 and has been a Boston comedy stalwart ever since. Mac has been in several ImprovBoston resident casts including the Family Show, All Access Improv and has performedr with indy teams Tallprov and juice. He is currently a cast member of Boston's Unscripted Musical Project (B.U.M.P.), Dirty Disney and Kerplunk. He leads a weekly Comedy Club at Ivy Street School and has led improv workshops since 2007. Mac and Nate Shaffer perform together as Foiled: The Improvised 2 Man Musical, which has taken the stage at ImprovBoston, NYC's The PIT and now The Happier Valley!
Nate Shaffer has been a Music Director with ImprovBoston since 2014, playing with resident casts Family Show, Mainstage, Face Off and ImprovBoston's National Touring Company.
