"IT'S MY PARTY: Music of the Girl Groups"
The Richmond Women's Chorus will present its annual pops concert entitled "IT'S MY PARTY: MUSIC OF THE GIRL GROUPS".  This is a musical salute to the female singers and girl groups of the 1950s and 1960s including such hits as Heat Wave, Please Mr. Postman, Baby Love,/Leader Of the Pack, My Boyfriend's Back and Land Of 1000 Dances.  From 50's ballads and Pop to 60's Motown and Rock, they spoke for and helped mold an entire generation. Guest performer and local favorite Amy Henderson rounds out the concert performing additional songs from the era.

Directed by RWC Artistic Director, Timothy Gillham, "It's My Party: Music of the Girl Groups" will be performed Sunday March 18 at 4:00pm at VCU's W. E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Avenue, Richmond.

"This is the first time the women's chorus has ventured into full-fledged "pops" repertoire. It promises to be very fun for the audience and the performers alike," Mr. Gillham commented.

Discount advance general seating ($15, $10 senior (55+) and student) can be purchased online at www.monumentcitymusic.org or at the door ($20, $15 senior/student).
