Scott Hansen is the unprecedented, 5-time winner of the Minnesota Comedian of the Year award. This is not an easy accomplishment in a state that is the home of comic stars Louie Anderson, Tom Arnold and Al Franken! The award winning comedian has made millions laugh with successful national TV appearances on HBO, Showtime, A&E and E!. Scott has developed and created two pilots and a series for Comedy Central including " Access America" which starred Fred Willard, Digest America and "Seriously Weird Magazine", which starred Joel Hodgson (Mystery Science Theatre 3000).
On regional television, Scott has produced, written, directed and hosted "Comedy Gallery:The TV Show" on KMSP-TV (FOX). The show was a ratings hit as it consistently beat "David Letterman" and the "Tonight Show" in it's weekly Friday night time slot. Scott has been the director, producer and head writer of the award winning, live. comedy specials "April Fools Live' and "Halloween Live" which were hosted by Harry Anderson, Jennie Jones and Roseanne Barr.
Scott's 20 plus years of laugh-filled, performances have set attendance records at comedy clubs, colleges,and corporate events nationwide. His national reputation has earned him a spot appearing in concert with superstars Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld and Drew Carey. Scott has been a guest host or regular feature on nearly every Minnesota news, talk,entertainment or sports TV program. He has done the weather and guest hosted sports shows on all network stations.
Scott has been heard from nationally on over 500 radio interviews. He has made radio listeners laugh on every possible format ranging from talk to country, from metal to Christian. Scott is currently featured on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio and is a regular fixture on the KQRS Morning Show.
Creatively, Scott has written comedy material that has been performed on the "Tonight Show" or "David Letterman" by Jay Leno, Louie Anderson and Roseanne Barr. As an actor Scott starred in the short thriller "Warped " which was directed by Roger Nygaard ( "Trekkies", "Mind of the Married Man" ) which won the Houston International Film Festival and in the feature film "Crossing the Bridge directed by Mike Binder ( The Upside of Anger)
Scott is critically acclaimed and has been praised in the local print media with numerous front-page, feature stories, including the covers of City Pages,The Minneapolis StarTribune. The St Paul Dispatch, Mpls/St Paul Magazine, The Twin Cities Reader, The Minnesota Daily and many more. Scott Hansen has been dubbed the, "King of Twin Cities Comedy" by Bob Protzman, the staff writer for of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

When Scott Hansen gets on stage, the audience knows within an instant that they are not watching television. The crowd readily realizes it is going to be a one-of-a- kind comedy experience.

Scott has a unique way of dealing with a live audience that seems above suspicion. Innocent and casual, his repartee is like talking with a neighbor over the fence as he grills a cheeseburger.
Somehow, Scott is able to build a camaraderie that sets the crowd at ease. Maybe it's that impish smile that tricks you into trusting him. Maybe it's the way Scott laughs at his own foibles, that lulls you into a false sense of security. Some viewers try to maintain their silence, but within a few moments, even the most stubborn audience is a part of Scotts' show.
Scott doesn't force jokes. He conducts a comedic therapy session where

Why has Scott stayed in Minnesota?
Scott and his wife Michele built their current Maple Grove home in 1987. It is in this community where he and his wife raised their children . We have great neighbors . Well, except for one , and you know who you are!"
Scott attended the University of Minnesota ( although he still has trouble cheering for a "Gopher") and his studies in the Theatre Arts was the impetus for his comedy career.
Along with Louie Anderson, Scott basically started comedy in Minnesota at one of Americas' first comedy night clubs, Mickey Finns. He has been offered several lucrative chances to move his family and talents to both coasts. They include a staff writing job on TV including "Roseanne". His friend Louie Anderson wanted him to write for "Family Feud". Scott has also turned down an opportunity to host morning drive radio in San Diego and a move to New York to produce programming for Comedy Central, Lifetime and Nickelodeon.
" I moved a lot when I was a kid. I wanted my kids to have a solid life foundation. Minnesota has provided that for them. I'm fairly certain that neither coast, no matter what the salary, could provide that for them. We have a diverse family that has proven to be a strong and colorful foundation for our children (It takes a village, but we have a trailer park.) My kids have enjoyed participation in baseball, softball, football, basketball and soccer. I have a bad back to prove that I have spent hundreds of hours on the hard , steel bleachers that are the trademark of kids parks ."
Three great kids, three grand kids, and a normal , Minnesota family. Scott believes that he has "hit the Big Time!"
