FIVE 10, a leading East Bay jazz-funk band, has a modern style rooted in the rhythm section innovations of Tower of Power, The Headhunters and Sly and the Family Stone, combined with cutting-edge Brazilian rhythms and steel-drum melodies. Sought after session and touring professionals, they have played with many of the most important musicians of their generation including Bobby Womack, Mariah Carey, Sheila E., The Jerry Garcia Band, George Benson, Michael Franti and Spearhead just to name a few. The musicians are: Marquinho Brasil, percussion; Steve Carter, keyboards; Dennis Smith, bass; Tommie Bradford, drums; and Jeff Narell, steel drums and percussion.
