Asanga Domask/SerendibDance
"Asanga Domask is one of this town's most talented artists" - Washington City Paper
Asanga Domask, CityDance Ignite Artist, and Founder and Artistic Director of SerendibDance, brings a daring collection of Sri Lankan traditional and folk dance to the CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore.
"Vishwa Rangana" will premiere original choreography of several group and solo works that are dedicated to the preservation of Sri Lanka's traditional Kandyan, low country, and folk dance.
More than 20 dancers from CityDance's Sri Lankan Traditional and Folk dance program and from the CityDance Conservatory, will perform the elegant and dynamic movements that typify these dances.
Traditional music and elaborate costumes and props, handcrafted in Sri Lanka, will take the audience on a journey into an ancient world rich in heritage and sacred traditions.
