Artists Oasa DuVerney & Mildred Beltre (of the art collective Brooklyn Hi-Art Machine) will guide participants in making silk-screen posters based on images from their new comprehensive guide to tenants' rights and community art-making. You will go home with your own posters containing important information you need to know as a tenant. In addition to the artists discussing their own experiences as community artists and organizers in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, participants will be given advice and resources to address their individual issues.
** A public interest lawyer will be onsite between 1-2pm to answer specific questions. if you'd like advice on a specific situation, please come with any pertinent documents (lease agreements, contracts, etc.) **
Light refreshments will be served. Please wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty!
