Today's only ticket is no longer available for "Dishwasher." Since there's only one ticket available for each date, if you already know which upcoming date you'd like to purchase, don't delay! If no ticket is sold by 10:59 PM "day of," there is sadly no "Dishwasher" that day.

Événement

Dishwasher (Florida Premiere)
Brian Feldman's first-ever job was as an actor with Orlando Shakespeare Theater. His second? Dishwasher at a chain restaurant in Winter Springs.

This September, in advance of the 25th anniversary of his professional acting debut and a major new project premiering in Orlando in March 2016*, award-winning D.C.-based conceptual artist Brian Feldman returns home to present the Florida premiere of "Dishwasher," the most talked-about and best reviewed show of the 2015 Capital Fringe Festival.

At a mutually agreed upon time, Brian will go the ticket buyer's home (Must be in Lake, Orange, Osceola or Seminole County) and hand wash the dirty dishes in their kitchen sink. Once completed, they will hand him a monologue of their choosing which he will cold read on the spot. Finally, Brian will pose them a question: "Am I a better actor or dishwasher?" After receiving their answer, he will depart their home; posting the verdict on social media.

Only 4 tickets are available for the Florida premiere of "Dishwasher" (one per day). If you're unable to get a ticket and let's face, you're not getting a ticket, take heart, Brian is already looking at dates to bring this - his newest signature project - back to Central Florida in the near future. Follow him on Twitter @BrianFeldman to be among the first to find out exactly when!

If you only watch one show in your home this year, #WashDishShow (twitter.com/hashtag/washdishshow?f=realtime).

*"Brian Feldman's William Shakespeare's Macbeth" premieres on March 20, 2016 at the Walt Disney Amphitheater in Orlando's Lake Eola Park (facebook.com/events/1426140924363853).

REVIEWS FROM 2015 CAPITAL FRINGE FESTIVAL

"Dishwasher" might seem like an odd premise for theater, but it is not out of character for Feldman, who has made a career out of a series of similarly interactive and bizarre projects. His endurance work follows in the tradition of great performance artists such as Tehching Hsieh and Marina Abramovic, but it's more playful..."

washingtonpost.com/news/going-out-guide/wp/2015/07/18/for-fringe-actor-brian-feldman-all-the-kitchens-a-stage-and-all-the-dishes-merely-dirty

"Don't get me wrong - this endeavor is certainly abnormal, but long after our dishwasher left, my roommates I sat about, dirtying more dishes with over-easy eggs (and missing our washer), discussing central questions of life and art and where lies the divide. By tidying a few kitchens over the next few weeks, Feldman is challenging the very definition of reality."
(Anne Larimer Hart, Washington City Paper)

"The 18 patrons who scored tickets to "Dishwasher" should consider themselves among the festival elite. This performance is, unsurprisingly, the most talked about show this summer. However, rest assured that "Dishwasher" will leave its mark on Washington not for having an eyebrow-raising concept, but for being intimate, engaging, and delightful."

"(5 Stars: Best of the 2015 Capital Fringe) The monologue I chose for Brian to read (at my mother's suggestion) was a passage from Yeats' "Celtic Twilight," very much about music and magic. He looked it over a few times, and then delivered it tremendously well to a quiet and rapt audience of otherwise very noisy people."
(Eames Armstrong, DCMetroTheaterArts)

"(5 Stars: Pick of the Fringe) My answer to my editor's question (rate the experience on a scale of one star to five stars) will be five stars. I like that there's nothing comparable to this in the festival. I liked that I didn't have to do my dishes Monday night. I liked not having to leave my house for the show. I liked not having to dress up or wear shoes. I like that it got me thinking meta-thoughts about performance. I like being in a very exclusive group, the eighteen "Dishwasher" viewers. We few. We happy few."
