The First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee presents internationally acclaimed baritone Kurt Ollmann in concert with the incomparable Jack Forbes Wilson at the piano.  Join Kurt and Jack for an evening of standards, old favorites and new surprises to delight and warm the soul.  

ABOUT THE ARTISTS...

KURT OLLMANN has had a wide-ranging international career in opera, concert and cabaret. Cabaret and Orchestral Pops engagements have taken him to Barcelona, Beirut, La Paz and London as well as across the United States.  He has appeared with the Boston and New York Pops and festivals in California, New Mexico, Georgia  and Florida with such colleagues as Tyne Daly, Christine Ebersole, Matt Morrison, Ron Moody, Adolph Green, Judy Kaye and Rebecca Luker.  

He has appeared in New York in concert performances of Cole Porter's Gay Divorce, Kern's Cat and the Fiddle,and Bernstein's On the Town. At Milwaukee's Skylight he has sung Macheath in The Threepenny Opera, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, Emile de Becque in South Pacific, and the title role in The Vagabond King.  Milwaukee audiences have also seen him at numerous cabaret venues with Jack Forbes Wilson.

Among his many recordings are Bernstein's Candide and West Side Story (both Grammy award winners), Gershwin's Oh, Kay! with Dawn Upshaw on Nonesuch, Gounod's Roméo et Juliette with Placido Domingo on BMG and Ravel's L'Heure Espagnole under Previn on DG.  He has also been featured in several PBS specials.  

Operatic appearances have included Pelléas at La Scala, Milan under Abbado and Don Giovanni in the original Peters Sellars production at Pepsico Summerfare and roles with  the opera companies in Vienna, Rome, Brussels, Wexford, Santa Fe, Seattle, Washington, Los Angeles, and New York City Opera.  He has sung with the London Symphony Orchestra, L'Orchestre de Paris, Rome's Accademia de Santa Cecilia, the New York Philharmonic and the orchestras of Montreal, Baltimore, Philadelphia and San Francisco, among many others.

Kurt Ollmann has presented classical song recitals at London's Wigmore Hall and in Paris, Milan,Geneva, Stuttgart, Barcelona, Montreal, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Cleveland and at Tanglewood as well as various other European and North American cities and festivals.  He has also sung in Lebanon, Kuwait, El Salvador, Honduras and Bolivia.  

Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Kurt Ollmann was a member of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee music faculty from 2002-2014.  He now lives in Savannah, Georgia.


JACK FORBES WILSON was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. Jack came to Wisconsin to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received a Master of Music Degree before moving out to Spring Green. After working at American Players Theatre for three seasons, he moved to Milwaukee, where he has worked as a pianist, singer, and actor for three decades.  For twenty years he has been a musical director at the First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee.  He has appeared in many shows at the Milwaukee Rep's Stackner Cabaret, and has also performed with Madison Rep, Skylight Opera Theatre and Next Act Theatre.  Jack teaches piano lessons when he is not practicing and performing.
