Von Heidecke's Dance Center's Summer Workshop

Dancers of all ages and levels will be participating in Von Heidecke's Dance Center's Summer Workshop performance on Sunday, August 9th at 2pm. The aim of the summer workshop is geared toward demonstrating the students' achievements. The performance displays the various academic levels of both technique and pointe classes in each of the school's progressive levels. The performance will also feature dancers from Veila Dance Troupe, directed by Cecilia Wei, performing several dances based on their different levels.

The Von Heidecke Dance Center is located in Naperville, Illinois where dancers begin instruction as young as 3 years of age. Programs are offered for students seeking recreation and fun, and also aspiring dancers seeking classical ballet training under the Balanchine style.
The program includes preballet, classical ballet, and musical theater, with instruction by professional artists who have performed nationally and internationally.

Instructors include co-director Randy Herrera, who has performed internationally, and is a former member of the Joffrey Ballet, as well as principal dancer for the Houston ballet. Pat Michalowski is a former member of the Lyric Opera Ballet Company, who often partnered with Kenneth Von Heidecke, and studied under George Ballanchine, and Prima Ballerina Assoluta Maria Tallchief. Janice Augustine has danced for Chicago Festival Ballet, SSPA Ballet, Lyric Opera of Chicago and DuPage Opera Theater. She has danced as a principal dancer, soloist and in the corps de ballet in various operas including La Traviata, Carmen, and The Merry Widow.
