11TH HOUR ENSEMBLE PRESENTS: UNDER

11th Hour Ensemble explores the process of loss and grief through a series of choreographic and poetic moments. Filtered through the lens of the ill-fated Orpheus in the wake of his descent into the Underworld, the result is a daring, elegant and heart-rending foray into one of the most fabled moments in all of Greek Mythology. Armed with physical, musical and other imaginative theatre styles, Under is a fresh, magnetic, and unabashedly original voyage into the depths of human loss that forces us to ponder the price of turning/looking back.

CHRISTINE MARIE & ENSEMBLE: GROUND TO CLOUD

Seamlessly integrating projected shadows, live actors and an innovative sound score, Christine Marie and her collaborators draw on the history of electric light
to manifest a flickering world of natural phenomena and human intervention.
Large-scale imagery from simple hand-held lights and props takes on mythological proportions as scientific discovery, religious folklore and magical trickery blend into an incandescent work of expressionist theater. Audience
members will be given 3D viewers for one scene in which live action and 3D blend to create a beautiful and unique visual experience.

Christine Marie & Ensemble won an award for most innovative theatrical experience from the New York International Fringe Festival 2010.

Christine Marie (director/ creator) is an integrated media artist and director. She has been creating original work for over a decade, specializing in experimental spectacle theater, video production and design. She is a former 10 year company member of ShadowLight theater and has studied Wayang Kulit traditional shadow puppetry in Bali. Christine Marie created puppets for "Pee Wee Live!" Currently she is also touring an installation entitled, "Shadows In Stereo," an immersive experience in which the audience holds stereoscopic opera glasses as they traverse an atmosphere of 3D shadows.
