Smarty Pants Training Clinic in Redding, CA
Join Shasta Roller Derby for a 2-day training clinic with Smarty Pants, June 20th & 21st!
Smarty is a massive advocate of building a foundation of strength and footwork before constructing defensive formations and jamming strategies. At this clinic you will start with learning how to tap into your strength to obtain faster reaction on the track. You will then learn how to incorporate your footwork so that you can then build defensive structures that do not move and jamming skills that push blockers to the limits.

Day 1: Saturday, June 20th, 2015

9am - 12pm - Session 1
12pm - 1pm - Lunch Break
1pm - 4pm - Session 2

Meet the Trainer:
Nadia Kean, aka Smarty Pants lives and plays roller derby in Austin, Texas for the Texecutioners and the Texas Rollergirls. She has been the co-captain of Team USA since the team's origin in 2011. Nadia has gained the respect of the international derby community through years of coaching for independent leagues and at training camps. Nadia enjoys working with a wide range of ability and skill. Her thought-provoking approach to coaching has helped thousands of skaters become the athletes they set out to be. Smarty incorporates concepts from various educational and athletic fields, focusing on the connections that are made between the brain and the body to enhance mobility, strength, strategy and skill. She feels equally comfortable coaching skaters who are in their first year as she does working with skaters preparing for WFTDA Championships. She can give you the short version of any skill or strategy, or she can break one concept down into a 12-hour session. She believes that there is potential in every skater, and she helps individuals, coaches, teams and leagues establish the timeline that is best suited for them to reach their key goals. When attending a session with Smarty you are guaranteed to walkaway with an entirely new learning experience and approach to whichever concept you are focusing on.

Cost:
-- 2-Day Skater Pass: $90.00 to attend the full 9-hour clinic (bring both a black and white shirt)
-- 1-Day Saturday Skater Pass: $60.00 to attend 6-hour clinic on Saturday, June 20th only (bring both a black and white shirt)
-- 1-Day Sunday Skater Pass: $30.00 to attend 3-hour clinic on Sunday, June 21st only (bring both a black and white shirt)
-- 2-Day Spectator Pass: $10.00 (bring a chair)
