Cult hero Peter Moore's band Count Zero is always an adventure. Experimental, innovative and powerful these guys have been rocking the Boston clubs for over 25 years.  Joining the bill tonight is the ever difficult to pin down musical outfit known as Sarah Rabdau and The Self Employed Assassins which also features Moore doing double duty as a vocalist.  All in all this is a night you will not want to miss!

Count Zero is a Boston-based band formed in 1996 by former members of the cult electronic band Think Tree. The group is led by Peter Moore, who among other pursuits, is also known for his work touring the world as lead vocalist for the Blue Man Group's "How To Be A Megastar" tour

For over 25 years Peter has shared the stage with his compatriot Will Ragano, who continues to contribute the occasional offbeat composition, cartoonesque stage mannerisms, and the "vicious guitar work that was his trademark in Think Tree" (The Boston Phoenix). Izzy Maxwell (bass), Joel Simches (keys), and newest member, Shawn Marquis (drums) round out the fold.

In addition to their latest release "Never Be Yourself" (2011), Count Zero's discography includes three previous full-length albums - "Little Minds" (2005), "Robots Anonymous" (2001), and "Affluenza" (1997). Their music was featured on the popular videogames "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band," and was heard across America on the band's six-week tour with the Dresden Dolls.

SARAH RABDAU AND THE SELF EMPLOYED ASSASSINS
'An Absolute Phenomenon'- The Noise

"Just who the hell does Sarah Rabdau think she is ..doesn't she know that artists aren't supposed to make music that we "critics" can't sum up in handy, tired little catch phrases?"-In Music We Trust

Sarah Rabdau's songs can make topics such as lecherous fathers and emotionally conflicted assassins seem universal, and everyday heartbreak and longing seem unique and rare. While unapologetically claiming all the usual suspects of girl-at-piano influences, Sarah has crafted a sound that seamlessly bridges the pop and art rock scenes. Her steadily growing following has seen her share bills with the likes of Shivaree, HUMANWINE and Adam Glasseye.

Joined by bipolar drummer Matt Graber (Me and Joan Collins, Mascara), the duo's live sound somehow evokes Tom Waits, Erik Satie and Nina Simone. With a voice that ranges from icy whispers to stentorian rage, Sarah's singing has been compared to that of Bjork and the Cocteau Twins Elizabeth Fraser.

Her 2004 William Orbit-influenced release, Benevolent Apollo earned her an honorable mention nod in the 2004 Billboard Songwriting Contest, as well as a spot on CD Baby's Ars Nova Compilation. With an arsenal of new material that is much more emotionally and sonically raw, Rabdau plans to release a very different sounding album this fall, which was produced by Peter Moore (Count Zero, Blue Man Group, Think Tree.)
