WE ALL WE GOT returns to Club Six on March 5th with acclaimed New York Rapper Cormega,  headlining the showcase series in a rare SF performance.  Presented by Inhouse Talent and hosted by Revolutionary Poet Sellassie, WE ALL WE GOT is an independent artist showcase designed to expose interesting and determined emerging artists, cultivate relationships, and build community. Marking the series' 57th show in just over a year, it is creating a movement where upcoming artists can gain exposure and experience and perform alongside legendary artists. WE ALL WE GOT is a place to discover some new music you just might like and mightn't hear elsewhere.

Cormega first burst into national consciousness in 1996 when he was featured on "Affirmative Action" from Nas' sophomore album, It Was Written. He joined the all-star supergroup, The Firm  originally Nas, Foxy Brown, and Cormega (later replaced by Nature). The alliance with The Firm was short-lived, but Cormega's lyrical prowess and street credibility landed him a contract with Violator/Def Jam. He recorded a critically acclaimed album called The Testament, which although never commercially released was praised by industry insiders  Appearances on Mobb Deep's "Murda Muzik," Prodigy's solo album "H.N.I.C.," Funkmaster Flex's Vol II and a host of other underground mixtapes, strengthened Cormega's underground following. In 2000, he started his own label, Legal Hustle Records, he says out of necessity, "At the time, I was blacklisted in the industry. The powers that be were trying to stop me from releasing my music, so I had no choice but to put out my own music." The decision was made out of frustration, but resulted in several critically acclaimed albums. It wasn't until 2001 that Cormega made his album debut, releasing The Realness on his own Legal Hustle label. It didn't benefit from the promotional push that Def Jam could have given it, but The Realness made quite an impact among the hip-hop underground, where it was revered. The second album followed, The True Meaning (2002), and was likewise critically acclaimed, earning Independent Album of the Year at the Source Awards in 2003. The album cracked the Top 100 of the Billboard 200 (peaking at number 95).  In 2005 he released The Testament, his unreleased Def Jam album from ten years prior, to which he had recently secured the rights to the master tapes, and in 2006 he was co-featured on My Brother's Keeper, a collaborative album also billed to Lake, a fellow Queensbridge rapper of some renown. In 2007 Cormega released Who Am I?, a DVD documentary covering the time period of 2001-2005; a CD soundtrack comprised of newly recorded music was included as well. Also in 2007, he released Got Beats?, an instrumental show featuring an impressive roster of producers, including DJ Premier, the Alchemist, Ayatollah, and Ski Beatz.  After a seven year solo recording hiatus, Cormega released his third official solo album, Born And Raised (2009) which he calls "the truest look into me not just as an artist, but as a writer and as a person. I came into my own in a lot of ways on this album," expresses Cormega. "Born And Raised is the first album where I talk about being a father and the impact my daughter has had on my life. It's also the first time I experimented with live sound without the guidance of a producer and the first time I got to record with producers and artist whose work inspired me to become an emcee.
WE ALL WE GOT host Sellassie is shining as a leading progressive voice in S.F. Bay Hip Hop. With an acclaimed debut release, I'm Tryin' to Make a Livin' Not a Killin', and a new follow-up album, Sins of Your Forefathers, he is carving his niche in Hip Hop. Although inspired and motivated from reading hundreds of books, Sellassie is self-taught and came up on the streets. Sellassie's lyric is rooted in a deep comprehension of the world around him. He writes on domestic and world politics, international relations and community needs, corporate thuggery and the obstacles independent artists face. He has seen first hand the problems that his music addresses. He has seen black on black crime, he has lost many close friends to homicide, he has seen the drugs and money destroy his community, he has witnessed the decay of Independent Bay Hip Hop. In addition to the new record, Sellassie is building this revolutionary show series WE ALL WE GOT, is working with many social, political and youth based initiatives, and is a contributor to various special projects including Emcees for Peace's The Matter That Matters CD and the film, "It Doesn't Cost Nothin' to Dream."
