Taylor's Grove - Old-time radio music

A bit of "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" old-time radio music comes to Needham when veteran country music performer and Maine Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Mac McHale and old-time gospel singer Carolyn Hutton blend North and South into the duo Taylor's Grove. Taking the name from the little North Carolina church where Carolyn grew up singing with her family, Mac and Carolyn perform in the spirit of simple old-fashioned American music that reaches across barriers of place and generations. Mac, a pioneer of Bluegrass music, is a member of The Maine Country Music Hall of Fame and was recently inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Museum. He is also the lead singer for the old-time country band "The Radio Gang", half of the popular Celtic/Country duo "Two Old Friends", and a Fishtraks recording artist with over 20 recordings. With guitar, mandolin, banjo and harmony singing, Taylor's Grove bring you the music of old places--old wooden churches, old town halls, old parlors, old battlefields, North and South, the music that touched the lives of people long ago and still has the power to touch, to delight, and to connect us all to the places and people from which we came.

The Homegrown Coffeehouse is located at the First Parish Unitarian Church, at the corner of Great Plain and Dedham Avenue in Needham center. There is free parking and full handicapped accessibility.
