BOOKMARKS Presents a Conversation with Cokie Roberts and Steven V. Roberts
with support from Centenary United Methodist Church
Saturday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Centenary United Methodist Church, Winston-Salem, NC

Cokie Roberts is a contributing senior news analyst for NPR and a commentator for ABC News, covering politics, Congress, and public policy. She was recently named by the Library of Congress as a "Living Legend," one of the very few Americans to have attained that honor. She is the author of the New York Times bestsellers: We Are Our Mothers' Daughters, an account of women's roles and relationships throughout American history, Founding Mothers and Ladies of Liberty. Her husband Steven V. Roberts is an award-winning journalist of more than 40 years who appears regularly as a political analyst on the ABC radio network and NPR. Since 1997 he has been the Shapiro Professor of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. His books include My Fathers' Houses and From Every End of This Earth.

Together, Cokie and Steven Roberts write a nationally syndicated newspaper column, are contributing editors to USA Weekend, and are the authors of a bestselling account of their interfaith marriage (Catholic / Jewish), From This Day Forward. Their new book, Our Haggadah: Uniting Traditions for Interfaith Families, offers a personalized version of the Passover text, written especially for use by couples of mixed faiths. The couple will talk about politics, writing together as well as their relationship and spirituality.

The program will be moderated by Rabbi Dr. Andrew Vogel Ettin, the spiritual leader of Temple Israel, Salisbury, NC and Professor of English at Wake Forest University, where he also teaches courses in the School of Divinity. Questions for Cokie and Steve Roberts may be sent before the program by e-mailing: info@bookmarksbookfestival.org.
